answer. Whatever mathematical landscape his students encounter, he equips them with the tools to navigate, encouraging them to explore, experiment, and report back. Daniel developed this perspective on math and learning starting in the peer-tutoring center and fabrication lab at Skyline College and then while earning his B.S. in Applied Mathematics at San Jose State University. He found like-minded colleagues as an instructor for the Art of Problem Solving, where he has taught the practicalities of pre-algebra and the surprising uses of graph theory. Then, while at Hillbrook Upper School as the Advanced Math teacher, he created and taught a curriculum in this philosophy for Single-Variable Calculus and an Advanced Statistics course that introduced students to statistical simulation through Python. He is excited to join Tessellations this year for the shared goal of education with authenticity.
